Workers' Compensation Procedure
1. Employees: Report any injury immediately
No matter how minor an on-the job injury may appear, it is important that it be reported immediately. Employees who sustain work-related injuries or illnesses should inform their supervisor as soon as it is practically possible. The supervisor should notify the Risk Manager as soon as possible. This will enable an eligible employee to qualify for treatment as quickly as possible.
If injury is serious or life threatening and emergency medical attention is required, contact ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ PD immediately. They will summon emergency services for the injured employee. There is no need to call ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ PD for non-emergency injuries.
2. Supervisors: Contact the Employee Relations Manager
Following an on-the-job injury, the supervisor will collect pertinent information concerning the injury and Patrick Harrel. If the injury occurs after working hours, the Risk Manager must be notified the next working day.
3. Compensation
ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ provides a comprehensive workers' compensation insurance program at no cost to employees. This program covers any injury or illness sustained in the course of employment that requires medical, surgical or hospital treatment. Subject to applicable legal requirements, workers' compensation insurance provides benefits after a short waiting period or immediately, if the employee is hospitalized. If an employee is temporarily unable to work due to a work-related injury, compensation will be made in accordance with provisions of the Oklahoma Workers' Compensation statutes.
4. Liabilities
Neither ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ nor the insurance carrier will be liable for the payment of workers' compensation benefits for injuries that occur during an employee's voluntary participation in any off-duty recreational, social, or athletic activity sponsored by ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ.
