Biography

Sara Parr graduated from the University of Oklahoma (OU) College of Medicine Physician Associate (PA) Program in December 2008 and from Oklahoma State University (OSU) in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physiology. She has been practicing since 2009 with 11 years at Mercy Clinic working in the specialties of Rheumatology, Hematology-Oncology, Internal Medicine, and Family Medicine. Additionally, Sara has practiced Family Medicine at OU Health, Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Integris and Neurology at the VA in the resident longitudinal clinics. Sara has also participated in clinical research trials in the fields of Hematology-Oncology and Rheumatology.

In conjunction with her clinical work, Sara served as Clinical Coordinator and Clinical Assistant Professor at the OU College of Medicine Physician Associate Program. Following her time at OU she continued to contribute to PA education by serving as a clinical preceptor and guest lecturer for PA programs. Sara has been an active leader in the PA community. For over 10 years she served on the Oklahoma Academy of Physician Assistants board of directors, including a term as President of the OAPA. She also served as an Oklahoma delegate for the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) House of Delegates (HOD).

Sara has been a member of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) and has completed the ACR Physician Assistant Postgraduate Rheumatology Training Program. Sara is a member of the Association of Women in Rheumatology (AWIR), Oklahoma Academy of Physician Assistants (OAPA), American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA).

Sara transitioned into a full-time faculty role at the ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ University (ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ) PA Program in August 2024 and is excited to share her clinical experiences as a PA educator. Sara lives in ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ with her husband, two daughters and two dogs. She enjoys barre 3, peloton, running, walking with her family and attending her children’s activities.
