Biography
Brian is the resident Technical Director and Associate Professor of Technical Direction at ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ. Brian worked for 10 years as the TD for Playwrights Horizons in NYC, engineering, building, and installing, scenery automation and effects for 60 productions. Notable world premieres include: Circle Mirror Transformation, and The Flick. While at PH Brian also founded Brian Coleman Scenery, a commercial scene shop. Brian Coleman Scenery has completed over 100 projects to date, including scenery for an HBO special, Carrie Fisher, Wishful Drinking, elements for an Ann Hamilton art installation at the Park Avenue Armory, and props for Pee Wee Herman on Broadway. Most recent projects include Actually We're Fu at the Cherry Lane Theater in NYC and Mies Julie & The Dance of Death at The Classic Stage company in NYC. Prior to ÂÜÀòÊÓƵ Brian worked as the resident TD and taught at Guilford College in Greensboro NC for eight years. Brian earned his BFA in Theatre Production from Rutgers the State University of New Jersey, Mason Gross School of the Arts.
